Forged shafts and adjustable stroke
All Sangiacomo Presse eccentric shafts are forged. Forging refines the grain structure and aligns it with the shaft profile. Grain refinement improves the mechanical properties of the steel (toughness and strength), while grain flow provides a further increase in shaft strength. These are benefits that a non-forged shaft, or a solution based on eccentric gears, cannot provide. A wide range of stroke settings also enables many different production processes while reducing impact speeds and, consequently, vibration and noise.
Precision slide guiding
To achieve high-quality production and minimize die wear, a press must have a precise, properly adjustable slide guiding system. Inadequate slide guidance first affects the quality of the parts produced, increases die wear and, over time, can even shorten the life of the press itself: from a production-efficiency standpoint, these are factors that cannot be overlooked. The 6 or 8 long guides included in the Sangiacomo Presse standard design enable tighter production tolerances, reduce die maintenance and ensure a higher-quality finished product.
